Proving to be a popular site, Jiskha Homework Help is a large collection of resources to help students learn and improve their grades. The homework help forum welcomes posts, and there's a group of professional experts and teachers who are there to receive questions. A well organized array of articles, links, and other searchable resources on all kinds of school subjects round out a really well thought-out site for kids of all ages.
The Math League's free Math Help facility is available for grades 4-8. It's available to everyone as a reference for basic math topics, including fractions, geometry, percents, real numbers, and many other topics.
An educational website about the Athenians of ancient Greece, the Ancient Greeks contains many graphics and photos, and describes their beliefs, culture, art, philosophies, theater, drama, lifestyles, and the Olympic games.
The Hargrett Rare Books and Manuscripts Library at the University of Georgia maintains a collection of about 800 historical maps spanning nearly 500 years, from the sixteenth century through the early twentieth century.
The National Atlas of Canada offers all sorts of information including maps, a geography quiz, and more.
Other Worlds, Distant Suns is a complete catalog of extrasolar planets, including star maps for finding these systems in the night sky, VRMLs to explore the 65 nearest stars and the solar system, links to over 65 noteworthy sites, and free downloads. At Other Worlds, you continue to learn science fact, not fiction.
Set up by a resourceful 9 year-old, B.J. Pinchbeck's Homework Helper has a great collection of sites that can help kids with their homework. It is fantastic!
Drop by the Web's largest collection of topics, ideas, and assistance for school related research projects . The Internet is a tremendous resource. They'll show you how to make the most of your time online. Find the best information available, eliminate frustration, and get better grades!
Helping Your Child With Homework is a great work by Nacny Paulu, written for parents of elementary and junior high school-age children.
Global Access to Educational Sources is a middle school ``cybrary'' (a play on library--hehe) for those students who need great research sources in a hurry.
There's a World Wide Web digital library for schoolkids called Kids Web, that will really help with doing homework or school research projects.
The creators of Yahoo, one of the more popular Web sites, has gone on to create another fantastic idea: Yahooligans! It's a fantastic collection of sites around the world that are of particular use to kids, including homework answers, science, museums, entertainment, and things like dinosaurs and history. The gold mine when you don't feel like going to the library. (You should anyway, tho!)
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space lets you see pictures of space, learn about rocketry, or search their pages for a specific topic.
